AAs your incoming President, I want to express the appreciation of the entire Delaware Valley Chapter of the 7x24 Exchange, for the dedicated work and commitment demonstrated by Russ Mykytyn and Bill Leedecke, in initiating and sustaining this organization during the first seven years of its existence. It was through their hard work that your chapter has sustained its position as the most active 7x24 chapter in the country.

Tom Reusche has assumed the responsibility of Executive Director, and together we will attempt to carry on the tradition of maintaining and growing the reputation of the Delaware Valley chapter, that has long been sustained by the contributions of Russ and Bill.

As we move into this year, our primary goal will be to increase the end-user membership. The appropriate mix of end users, consultants and vendors is what will enhance the effectiveness of our group.

The ability to share leading edge Data Center Best Practices is a tremendous membership benefit. This is your organization, and the benefits you receive will be in direct ratio to the participation and suggestions you can offer to your Board of Directors. Reach out to your colleagues, customers and associates, and introduce them to 7x24 Exchange. Describe the benefits that they will receive, and invite them to try us for a year. This approach can be very effective, particularly for the vendors, as you have frequent contact and meaningful conversations with a significant number of the decision makers in the end-user community.

Your Board of Directors is going to continue the program of organizing Chapter Meetings with specific themes and subject matter expert guest speakers. We solicit your suggestions for meeting venues, guest speakers and any other ideas you may be willing to share, to help improve our organization and assure the Delaware Valley Chapter is meeting your expectations. Send me, or any of the other Board members, an email outlining your ideas. I assure you that each suggestion will be given full consideration. I also want to welcome this year’s new Board member, Donna M. Manley, IT Sr. Director, Computer Operations, University of Pennsylvania. Donna is a recognized Data Center industry leader, and frequent speaker at IT conferences. She brings a unique Higher Education perspective to the chapter.
